Farhan Akhtar will play the role of Major Shaitan Singh in the film ‘120 Bahadur’, shooting begins in Ladakh

New Delhi. Actor Farhan Akhtar will be seen playing the role of Param Vir Chakra winner Major Shaitan Singh in the film ‘120 Bahadur’, based on the backdrop of the 1962 India-China war. The producers gave this information on Wednesday. According to the producers, the upcoming film is inspired by the battle of Rejang La. It was at this place that the soldiers of Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment displayed unparalleled courage, bravery and sacrifice. ‘120 Bahadur’ is being produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan’s production company ‘Excel Entertainment’ in collaboration with Amit Chandra’s ‘Trigger Happy Studio’. The first shoot of the film is starting today in Ladakh. ‘Excel Entertainment’ gave information about this on the social media platform ‘X’.

In the post, the makers said, “It is a privilege to bring to you the story of Major Shaitan Singh PVC and the soldiers of Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment.” It said, “Famously known as the Battle of Rezang La, the battle fought on 18 November 1962 during the Indo-China War, is a story of remarkable courage, valour and selflessness shown by our men in uniform despite all odds.” The makers also expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army for their support in “bringing this incredible story of valour to the screen”.

Rajneesh Ghai, famous for Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Dhakad’, will direct this film produced by ‘Excel Entertainment’.
Last week, Farhan had said that he is in Ladakh to shoot a “special film”. Farhan had given information about this by posting on the social media platform ‘Instagram’. Farhan also shot his films ‘Lakshya’ (2004) and ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ (2013) in the hilly region. He wrote in the post along with a picture of the local people of the Union Territory, “After Lakshya and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, I am back in Ladakh to shoot a very special film.”
