Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’ will be released in September

New Delhi. Actress-turned-MP Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’ will be released on September 6. The filmmakers gave this information on Tuesday. Ranaut was sworn in as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh on Monday, the first day of the first session of the 18th Lok Sabha.

Ranaut plays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in ‘Emergency’. The release date of this film has been postponed several times. It was earlier scheduled to release on November 24, 2023. Ranaut, the lead actress, writer, director and producer of ‘Emergency’, said that she took inspiration from William Shakespeare’s play ‘The Tragedy of Macbeth’ to make her film.

The actress said, “I am deeply inspired by William Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’. The essence of ‘Emergency’ is the destruction that happens when ambition breaks moral barriers. It is undoubtedly the most sensational chapter of Indian democracy and I am eagerly waiting for its release worldwide on September 6, 2024.” Ranaut said in a post on the social media platform ‘X’ that she is announcing the release of her film ‘Emergency’ on the occasion of the “beginning of the 50th year of the darkest chapter of independent India”.

He wrote, “An explosive saga of the most controversial episode in the history of Indian democracy.” Emergency also stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair and the late Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Zee Studios and Ranaut’s Manirankinka Films.
