JPC probe into collusion between Adani and SEBI chief necessary: Bhupesh Baghel

The Uncut

Nagpur. Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday demanded a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the “collusion” between Adani and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) chief. Addressing a press conference in Nagpur, Baghel said that the opposition will put pressure on the government for a JPC probe into the collusion between the SEBI chief, the Modi government and Adani.

He said, “The entire economy is being affected by this collusion and one person is taking full advantage of the economy, which requires a JPC inquiry.” Claiming that “new facts and serious allegations” have come to light which were not mentioned in the Hindenburg report, Baghel demanded that the Supreme Court, which is looking into the rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata and other sensitive issues, should take suo motu cognizance of the “collusion between Adani and SEBI chief Madhavi Buch”.

He said, “For the first time, a non-IAS (Indian Administrative Service) officer was made the SEBI chairman, who has come to light to be associated with one of Adani’s companies.” Baghel claimed, “Should such a person be allowed to lead SEBI? A case is already going on on the issue of SEBI chairman and new facts have come to light.” Baghel accused the (Narendra) Modi government of misusing central agencies to indirectly help Adani in the acquisition of several companies.
