Kolkata: Repair work is going on at the place where the doctor was raped and murdered, allegations of tampering with evidence

Kolkata: A new controversy has started in the case of rape and murder of a doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College. Actually, repair work is going on near the place where the female doctor was raped and murdered. Opposition parties BJP and Left parties have made serious allegations against the administrative officials of trying to tamper with evidence under the pretext of repair work.

Students protested against the repair work
Students from the CPIM-affiliated Democratic Youth Federation of India and Student Federation of India raised questions over the start of reconstruction work near the seminar hall where the doctor’s body was found. The students said that the authorities were trying to destroy and tamper with evidence to save the real culprits. The protesting students gathered at the gate of the emergency building and expressed their displeasure over the start of reconstruction work in the medical college.

Some students claimed that the victim was gang-raped
Some students claimed that the postmortem report showed that the victim was raped by several people. Media reports quoted Dr. Subarna Goswami as saying, “It is clear that this is not the work of one person. She (the victim) was gangraped.” Dr. Subarna has made this claim on the basis of the postmortem report.

BJP surrounded Mamta Banerjee government
Kolkata Police has arrested Sanjay Roy, an accused in the case of rape and murder of a doctor. At present, the investigation of the incident has been handed over to the CBI and CBI has also started the investigation from Wednesday. BJP leader Amit Malviya surrounded the Mamata Banerjee government on this matter and alleged that the state government and Kolkata Police are trying to suppress the case. Amit Malviya said that the RG Kar Medical College Authority has started repair work at the place of murder and rape and this could be an attempt to destroy important evidence, which could become important evidence in this case.
