Nagpur. Three youths who studied till 10th standard in Maharashtra set up an ‘IT solutions company’ and allegedly duped a Nagpur resident of Rs 5 lakh through online fraud. Giving this information on Sunday, the police said that all the three accused have been arrested from Mumbai.

An official of the Nagpur Cyber ​​Police said that the arrested persons have been identified as Atul Indrapati Singh (32), a resident of Virar in Palghar, Neeraj Shamkumar Choubey (26) of Nalasopara and Vikas Meghlal Sao (23) of Dahisar. According to the police, the three recently set up a company named Samarth IT Solutions and listed their contact details on Google.

Police said that Atul Uike, a resident of Mahal area of ​​Nagpur, faced a problem with the ‘PhonePe’ app on his mobile device in May. He searched for customer care contact information on Google and found a number listed by Samarth IT Solutions.

The official said that following the instructions given, Uike made a video call during which the fraudsters manipulated the ‘settings’ of his phone and promised that the app would start working by night. He said that after this, five lakh rupees were transferred from his bank account in three installments (first Rs 1.49 lakh, then Rs 1.99 lakh and Rs 1.49 lakh) during the next two days. After this, when Uike lodged a complaint with the cyber police, the fraudsters were arrested.
